Area Monitoring

Protecting sensitive machine parts such as expensive optics and precision tools against damage requires, highly precise are monitoring. The SmartRunner Detector is specially optimized for this task and can even detect small or transparent obstructions. The vision sensor is based on SmartRunner technology, which combines the proven light section method with a 2-D vision sensor and LED lighting for the first time. The detector is easy to parameterize. The user can teach in the background and, if necessary, other parameters such as the sensing range can be set via Data Matrix control codes without using a PC. The vision sensor reliably detects all errors in the defined sensing range, even objects that are difficult to detect because of a mirroring reflective surface. In these cases, the parallel evaluation of the object and background laser lines ensures that objects are reliably detected. The SmartRunner Detector integrates transmitters and receivers into a single housing and can be quickly and easily aligned with natural objects such as walls. Additional alignment and wiring time is no longer necessary.

In this application, the SmartRunner Detector checks whether the worker has removed the goods from the correct box. The SmartRunner Detector can also be incorporated into pick-by-light systems.
