Release Notes for Pepperl+Fuchs Thin Client Software

This update provides an improved factory reset. It gives users the ability to maximize storage capacity for third-party software and security updates. In addition, the factory reset can now be controlled remotely from VisuNet Control Center.

This functionality update for the VisuNet RM Shell 5 firmware provides you with additional features upon factory reset. For example, it allows you to create and save individual backup images of the "status quo" of your device. This way, installations will not be lost and do not have to be restarted if there is a reset.

This security update for VisuNet RM Shell 5 (5.0 and newer) and VisuNet Control Center includes the following Windows® updates:

• 2019-11 Servicing Stack Update (KB4550994)
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 for x64 (KB4054590)
• 2020-02 Security update for Adobe Flash Player (KB4537759)

These updates are not critical to security and can be installed if necessary during your next scheduled maintenance.

We recommend this functionality update to all users of a KVM Raritan Dominion KX IV-101 that is supported by the new RM Shell 5.2 release. The update streamlines the initial connection setup process, allowing users to quickly and easily create a connection profile and establish a KVM connection. 

Please note that if you update to RM Shell 5.2, you must also update the VisuNet Control Center if you use it.

Microsoft® has released another security update. Pepperl+Fuchs provides users with the appropriate update for the VisuNet RM Shell 5 firmware.

This functionality update fixes minor errors and integrates a number of new features into the firmware for Pepperl+Fuchs thin clients. Among these new features are an adaptation of the session shadowing function and an improvement to the factory reset.

Due to vulnerabilities in the Windows® operating system, known as "DejaBlue", Pepperl+Fuchs recommends that Remote Desktop Service users install a new security update.

This functionality update for the VisuNet Control Center software introduces new functionalities upon factory reset. It includes a "Capture Image” wizard and an "Apply Image” wizard. The “Capture Image” wizard allows a backup image and a so-called clone image to be created. The "Apply Image" wizard in Control Center allows you to upload existing Pepperl+Fuchs image files or previously created clone and backup images.
